SIMPLICITY

Due to its small size the system can be transported fully assembled. Open the box, insert the battery and you are ready to go. The AscTec High Performance GPS assures stable positioning and significantly supports the pilot. Actually, you do not have to fly the AscTec Falcon 8, it is more like working with a tripod. Our patented V-shape keeps the rotors clear from the camera’s point of view.

MOBILITY

With its eight small rotors, the safety level cannot be higher, which means you can always be there at the spot. With the Mobile Ground Station you can walk around while flying. This is true mobility and a huge advantage for any one man show – efficiency at its best.

100% DEVELOPED BY ASCENDING TECHNOLOGIES

We don’t just buy third party hardware and software and put it into a mechanical frame. In contrast, all components of our flight systems are developed in-house by engineers, specialized in their field of application. The result: perfectly integrated systems with unique performance and functionality. We produce the AscTec Falcon 8 in series production, constantly evolving since 2009. And the development doesn’t stop with the flight system itself, we also care about useful accessories and how you can transport everything in a customized case or specifically designed backpack.

PATENTED DESIGN

The AscTec Falcon 8 stands out from the crowd of the multicopters. Our patented V-shape keeps the rotors outside of the camera’s field of view regardless of whether you tilt the camera up or down, or fly at high speeds with steep pitch angles. In addition, all mass is centered and in the plane of the rotors to keep inertia as low as possible. The result: the most stable flying camera on the market and always a unique perspective!

FLIGHT STABILIZATION

We started developing UAVs nearly 10 years ago and are known worldwide for the best flight stabilization in class – the core technology of every multirotor UAV. Only if the system is absolutely stable in turbulent conditions, you can do your job and complete your everyday tasks successfully. Our specialists in control engineering have designed a highly reactive, extremely precise and still smooth flight stabilization characteristic, perfect for aerial video. Our control algorithm is up to five times faster than others in this class, which leads to a smooth GPS controlled flight with full payload even in high winds up to 10 m/s (<6Bft). There are 8 relatively small propellers with little inertia, which helps to accelerate them or slow them down quickly. A side effect, with that small propellers, the potential danger to property or people cannot be less, which means the safe distance is minimal.

REDUNDANT PROPULSION

The octocopter is able to automatically handle defects on one complete propulsion system, for example if a propeller gets damaged in flight. The flight stabilization shifts the thrust to the remaining propellers and still maintains full control of the system. A safety feature no other system can offer!

ASCTEC HIGH PERFORMANCE GPS

Every system is delivered with the newly developed AscTec High-Performance GPS. The latest GPS chip set combined with customized high frequency electronics deliver unparalleled position accuracies and reliability. Its multi-path capability significantly enhances signal reception in challenging situations, e.g. when the system flies close to objects or when the system is banked due to high winds. You can now operate the system in GPS controlled flight almost anywhere!

RESISTANCE TO MAGNETIC FIELDS

Our refined flight stabilization software has a completely new GPS position control that is almost completely resistant to magnetic fields, something which is absolutely unique in that class of flight systems. This is a breakthrough for aerial inspection applications! Before introducing that revolutionary feature, Micro UAVs fully relied on the compass to determine their orientation. In case of external magnetic fields, there was no longer any automatic position control, making manual intervention from the pilot necessary in order to avoid crashes. Yet another feature, which is only offered by the AscTec Falcon 8.

MOBILE GROUND STATION

In contrast to other systems on the market, our Mobile Ground Station is indeed mobile and can be carried around and operated by one person. The data link, camera control, video link, Status Display and the controls for system itself are all onboard and integrated into our Mobile Ground Station. A two channel diversity data link at 2.4 GHz is installed which guarantees a stable link at all times. The video link is at 5.8 GHz to ensure a clear live view without interference. These frequencies are most often unrestricted making it possible to use the AscTec Falcon 8 internationally.

READY FOR USE

The complete system comes factory calibrated with perfectly defined control parameters and is ready for use. There is no need for adjustments or programming, as our engineers did all the hard work for you.
