OUR MAURITIAN ARRI ALEXA SXT W

When ARRI decided to go Wireless, the ARRI SXT Plus was replaced by the Fully Wireless, 35mm Format Film-Style Camera: the ARRI SXT W. The integration of wireless video, with wifi, ECS wireless lens and camera control and interference-free operation between video, wifi and ECS radios, make the ARRI SXT W an innovation in the world of cinema. The camera is also lighter and smaller than one with an external transmitter, not to mention that there are less cables, which eliminates potential cable failures on set.

Features:

  • Up to four receivers can be used simultaneously per transmitter.
  • Range of 600m / 2000ft
  • Zero Delay & Uncompressed.
  • Audio, Timecode and Record tally all transmitted.

Our film camera is faster and easy to set up, as compared to older models, thanks to its nature. The integrated video transmitter saves us the hassle of incorporating third party video senders to our film camera system too. We save time on set as we don’t have to run cables. Definitely, since we acquired the ARRI Alexa SXT W, our productions move faster.

Another novelty which fascinates us is the whole range of options which open up to us with the integrated WiFi radio: color management on set and wireless camera remote control with the ALEXA web remote, for example. We would think that interference between radio and camera transmitters of other equipment on set would arise, but there is none. We really have nothing to complain about when it comes to our best film camera. Our ARRI SXT W is one of the first film cameras used on a high budget Hollywood movie on the island and the only one existing in Mauritius so far.
